Opening Sneekweek with Fleet Scow

Opening Sneekweek with the traditional Vlootschouw, parade of the participating sailing classes in the Sneekweek sailing races with lots of music.

On Friday evening is the official opening of the Sneekweek with in the Kolk the traditional Vlootschouw. Here the participating sailing classes present themselves with music performances, presentation of the 'boat of the year' and honouring of the 'skipper in the order of the Sneeker Pan'. Thousands of visitors line the quays to watch the parade of boats. The preliminary program starts at 7:30 pm. The fleet parade starts at 9:30 pm and ends around 10:30 pm. After this, the Sneekweek fair also begins and the music squares in the city center start.

The Sneekweek sailing races start the following day on Saturday morning on the Sneekermeer. Throughout the week there are various cultural and musical festivities in the center of Sneek.
