175 Years of the Royal Sneek Water Sports Club

For 175 years, the Sneekermeer, Starteiland, and Sneek have provided the backdrop for the water sports activities of the Royal Sneek Water Sports Association. The Frisian Maritime Museum is celebrating this anniversary with an exhibition at the museum and on Starteiland.

In the recreational boating hall, the museum is displaying images from its joint collection. On Starteiland, along the route from the ferry to the starting tower, you’ll encounter various moments from the history of the KWS. Think of camping in the 1960s, old-time surfing competitions, Starteiland as it once was, and vintage posters.

The images will be on display at the museum throughout the summer vacation. On Starteiland, the exhibition will be on view at least until the end of July.
