Bungee Rowing During Sneekweek

During Sneekweek, you can take part in bungee rowing on the Westersingel in Sneek. You and your team climb into a rowing boat that’s attached to an elastic cord. As soon as you start rowing, the resistance increases steadily. The goal is for your team to go as far as possible.

Each team rows two heats. The best attempt counts, and the strongest teams advance to the finals. A team consists of eight rowers and a coxswain. If you don’t have one, the organizers will help you find one. You can also register individually; a team will then be put together on the day of the event.

Participation is free. You must be at least 16 years old and hold swimming certificates A and B. Athletic clothing is recommended, and sports gloves can be useful for extra grip.

Bungee Rowing will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Theater Sneek on Westersingel. Online registration is open through July 27. After that, you can register on the day of the event as long as there is still space available.
