Capella Sneek sings: Italian Autumn
As colorful as the leaves on the trees are at the moment, the program Capella Sneek is bringing this fall with choral music of Italian origin is as versatile.
- Sunday 23 November
15:30 - 17:00
Italy, of course, is known as the land of great emotions - a place where expression, passion and beauty come together in art, poetry, music and everyday life. It has therefore been the land of great opera composers for centuries: Lotti, Monteverdi, Rossini and Verdi.
Even without the visual spectacle, their a cappella music - meaning only chorus, without accompaniment - is ironclad and imbued with deep feelings: religiosity, desolation, or the impossibility of love at all - it becomes almost tangible.
A fire chord, a limerick and even a battle song pass by. All under the direction of conductor Gerard van Beijeren.
