Children's Book Festival at the Sneek Library

The Children’s Book Festival is back! It’s the festival where the theme of Children’s Book Week comes to life. This year’s Children’s Book Week theme is “Spotlight On!” Step into the spotlight yourself, be amazed by the stories, and join in on fun activities.

What’s there to do?

• Come dressed as a superstar and enter to win a great prize!
• Visit Poort’s theater studio and take part in a fun activity by showing the VIP pass you’ll receive at the library.
• Watch and join in on the fun experiments the “Nutty Professor” is conducting as part of “Science Weekend.”
• Join in on dance, music, and stop-motion film workshops—there’s sure to be something fun for you.

Children’s Book Week
This activity is part of Children’s Book Week. Children’s Book Week is the most fun week of the year for children and aims to inspire as many children as possible to read books. The 72nd Children’s Book Week will take place this year from Wednesday, September 30, through Sunday, October 11, 2026. The theme of Children’s Book Week is “Spotlight!” By reading books, you can experience all kinds of things. One moment you’re a famous singer belting it out at a sold-out concert, and the next you’re someone who has the whole class in stitches with a good joke. This Children’s Book Week is one big open stage.
