Christmas concert Evergreens in Sneek

In the attractively decorated main hall we will again present a very varied program.

Again we have some firsts: a real classic: Mary did you know. Written in 1984 by Mark Lowly and then re-released by many in all kinds of styles and tempos. We will perform a polyphonic arrangement by Roger Emerson. Perhaps familiar to many is the song Wonderful Christmastime: lyrics and music by Paul McCartney and released in 1979. We sing a 4-voice arrangement by Alan Billingsley. And a beautiful sing-along is on the program: Frede foar dy. A song by Huub Oosterhuis from 2008. We sing it in 3 languages: Frisian, Dutch and German in a 4-voice arrangement by Tom Lowenthal. We also sing rock and roll, gospels, evergreens and classic songs like Jingle Bell Rock, Sing Noël Noël, Go tell it to the mountain, Merry Christmas everyone. White Christmas and Jesus bleibet Meine Freude.

All this under the inspiring leadership of conductor Erwin de Ruijter and accompanied by our combo consisting of pianist Itske Brakels, guitarist Peter Brakels, due to physical discomfort our regular bassist Ronald Postma will be replaced by Sjoerd Swart and drummer Leo Roodhof.

It promises to be a nice and cozy party again!

A lottery with nice prizes will be organized for the benefit of the choir. Before the concert and during the intermission the lottery tickets will be sold in the foyer and after the concert the prizes can be collected at the billiard table.

If you want to see more of us: a delegation of Evergreens will bring musical conviviality to the Christmas market on Sunday, December 14 in the Spil in Sneek.

And it takes a while yet but our Spring Concert is also already fixed: on Saturday evening April 11, 2026 from 20.00h to 22.00h.
