Circus and dance performance: Circumstances - Beyond

In BEYOND, choreographer Piet Van Dycke works with six professional performers, each specialized in a different discipline (ladder walking, acrobatics, acrobatics, partner acrobatics and (pole) dance). On stage, they reveal themselves to be boundless bridge builders.

With ladders varying in size and height, the players build impressive structures, such as arch sculptures and spinning cranes. They balance the ladders into an exciting, teetering playing field. They explore unknown heights, climb, float and venture into daring choreography. Every inch and every second matters. They seek the extremes and discover how far they can drive each other. Physical dependence has never been so exciting.

BEYOND is about the vulnerability, absurdity, but also the power of boundaries, and how we can push them by working together. Together we dance on the collective ladders of human imagination.

BEYOND (2025) is an enduring production. By reusing the scenography of Beyond the Edge (2024) - a youth production by Piet Van Dycke for fABULEUS - we give this material a second life in BEYOND: new creation with different themes, new construction techniques and professional performers.
