Concert by the Byzantine Men's Choir of Friesland

Oud Kerkhof 1 Sneek
  • Sunday 27 September15:30 - 17:30

On Sunday, September 27, at 3:00 p.m., the Byzantine Men’s Choir of Friesland will perform a concert at the Martinikerk in Sneek. This church is located on a mound in the center of Sneek and is a three-aisled hall church dating from 1498. In this “fitting” setting, you can enjoy this a cappella choir of 24 members from the three northern provinces. The choir’s unique sound, featuring clear tenors and deep basses, is widely praised. The choir is under the inspiring direction of Nana Tchikhinashvili, originally from Georgia. She has brought her culture with her and shared it with the choir. This partly explains the unique character of their repertoire. This choir is one of a kind in Friesland. The conductor is also a professional singer (mezzo-soprano). Her versatility is further evident in her deep passion for this music as a composer and teacher. She is always seeking to reveal the soul of the music. The event is organized by the Friends of the Martinikerk Sneek Foundation. They cordially invite you to attend this concert. They cordially invite you to attend this concert.
