Embroidery Week for Children in Sneek
This fall break, the wool rescuers from Pleed are coming to the Frisian Maritime Museum. In the museum’s auditorium, children can learn how to embroider, see how wool is spun into thread, and learn how to dye wool with plants.
- Sunday 11 October t/m Sunday 18 October
11:00 - 17:00
Embroider an animal or a plant—either from memory or using a pattern. If you’d like, you can leave your embroidered patch to be added to the large “Zoemend Geel” wall hanging that Pleed is creating to raise awareness about biodiversity.
Plead’s embroidery week runs from Sunday, October 11, through Sunday, October 18, every day from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Embroidery is free, but you’ll need to pay the museum admission fee. Please note! The children’s museum is closed due to construction, but the museum scavenger hunt is still available.
October: Children’s Month
On Sunday, October 18, admission for children is free as part of October Children’s Month. On that day, you can not only embroider but also choose another craft activity.
