Exhibition: Blauhús - 30 Stories, 1 Community

Through thirty personal portraits, the residents of Blauhús show who they are, what they do, what their stories are, and how they come together to form a community.  

Blauhús – 30 Stories, 1 Communityis part of the artistic storytelling project SAVE. SAVE stands forStories of the Archipelago of Villages in Europe. Just as in the Frisian village of Blauhus, thirty personal stories have been collected in Praputnjak, Croatia; Hopovo, Serbia; and the Lithuanian village of Jadagoniai. Together, the SAVE stories paint a diverse and intimate picture of rural life in Europe today. 

The stories from Blauhús werecollected by Sjoerd Litjens and Sippy Tigchelaar, and the images were captured by Tryntsje Nauta and Marieke Kijk in de Vegte. The exhibition will be on view from May 16 through the end of August in the gardens of the Fries Scheepvaart Museum in Sneek.
