Gert-jan Veenstra's Summer Exhibition at Galerie Offingawier

From July 4 through August 2, Frisian painter Gert-Jan Veenstra will present his summer exhibition at Galerie Offingawier, near Sneek and Lake Sneekermeer. The exhibition features recent paintings and ink drawings in which his familiar landscape themes are expanded to include beach, sea, and coastal scenes from the Netherlands and abroad, including Germany, England, and France.

Light, air, and water once again form the core of his work. Sand, surf, and vast cloudy skies evoke a sense of space, stillness, and movement. The exhibition includes works in oil and acrylic, ranging from monumental canvases to smaller, more intimate pieces, complemented by his characteristic ink and pen drawings.

At the same time, the second edition of the book *Zeker, deze plek bestaat. The Life and Work of Gert-Jan Veenstra. This richly illustrated volume of over 200 pages, written by poet Kees Spiering, offers an insightful portrait of the artist and his development, featuring personal photographs, paintings, early drawings, and previously unseen works.

During the exhibition, Galerie Offingawier is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visits outside of opening hours are possible by appointment.
