A boat tour along the city canals in and around Sneek on an open boat (praam). Thanks to its low clearance, Grachtenrondvaart Sneek can show you the most charming and intimate spots in Sneek. The skipper will tell you about the city’s rich history. Among other sights, you’ll pass by Sneek’s iconic Waterpoort. The tour lasts just under an hour.

There is room for up to 18 people. Is your group larger than 12 people? Please contact us to discuss your options.

Location
The boarding location is at the dock diagonally across from the Fries Scheepvaartmuseum / VVV Sneek, Kleinzand 16 in Sneek.

Parking is available at the Veemarkt grounds, Korte Veemarktstraat 12 in Sneek. A portion of the grounds offers free parking. Alternatively, you can park in the parking garage at Normandiaplein 7, where the first 24 hours are free. For both parking locations, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the boarding location.

Important to know
Please be at the dock 10 minutes before departure. Keep in mind that you’ll be sitting still on the open barge for about an hour. If the weather is a bit chilly, be sure to bring a sweater or jacket. Fleece blankets are available on board. Umbrellas are also available if needed. In sunny weather, remember to bring a hat and sunscreen.

The pier has a low boarding step. The crew will be happy to help you board. The canal tour passes under low bridges, so you’ll need to duck in some places. The skipper will let you know in advance when this is necessary.

Bonus: Present this ticket to receive a discount on admission to the Fries Scheepvaartmuseum in Sneek. Learn more about shipping in the province of Friesland and the city’s history. The museum is open every day.
