Lucy Horsch

Singel 62 Sneek
Lucy Horsch, together with the Luthers Bach Ensemble, presents a sparkling Baroque program in which she not only shines on the recorder but also adds a surprising dimension as a singer.
  • Saturday 26 September19:30 - 21:00

Vivaldi & Bach
The concert opens with Lucie Horsch performing Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous Violin Concerto in A minor, arranged for recorder. The transparent sound of the recorder reveals new dimensions in Bach’s virtuosic composition. This is followed by Buxtehude’s *Missa Brevis*. With this work for choir and orchestra, we find ourselves immersed in the North German tradition so admired by Bach.
Not only is the recorder one of Lucie’s passions, but singing is also her talent. She demonstrates this in the flamboyant aria “Se in fiorito ameno prato” from Handel’s *Giulio Cesare*.
After the intermission, the focus shifts to Vivaldi with the “Kyrie, Christe, Kyrie,” a lively and richly contrasting choral work in which drama and devotion go hand in hand. Lucie Horsch then returns as soloist in the sparkling Concerto for Recorder in C. The concert concludes with the Kyrie and Gloria from Bach’s Lutheran Mass in G minor, featuring a small choir, a Baroque orchestra, and Lucie together
