Nico has to spend the summer months in Sicily with an old aunt. There she has lived all her life in an old and large apartment, old-fashioned and without any modernities.

She insists on pleasantries and lives by her established routines. The arrival of the lively boy disrupts her daily pattern, and a clash between traditions and contemporary times marks the beginning of their relationship. Gradually, however, a touching bond develops that neither knew they needed.
