Movie house: L'amour ouf - Gilles Lellouche

Director Gilles Lellouche (Le grand bain) brings together a star-studded French cast for a raw, romantic fairy tale set during the 1980s and 1990s. Lellouche found inspiration from Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino and West Side Story and puts a modern twist on the Romeo and Juliet story. In L'amour ouf, we see the teenage love blossom between the maverick Jackie and the rebellious Clotaire. Their relationship is severely tested when Clotaire chooses the bad path. When gang violence lands him in jail, they lose track of each other. Years later, Clotaire tries to get his life back on track and sets out to find Jackie. Can love conquer all?
