Movie House: Sorry, Baby Eva Victor

At least, to everyone around her. When a dear friend stops by just before an important milestone, Agnes is confronted with how quiet her own life has become. Slowly, she begins to realize what is holding her back and takes the first tentative steps toward a new beginning.

Not many people know American actress Eva Victor, unless they are fans of the series Billions. That will change now, because her directorial debut Sorry, Baby, which she wrote and in which she plays the lead role, won high honors at Sundance and Cannes. This is a small independent film that could easily have been drowned in the huge offerings. But the way Victor portrays processing trauma is so fresh, original and "joyful" that the viewer is likely to get carried away pretty quickly.
