Ring riding Sneek

On Saturday, June 13, the Singel in Sneek will turn into the setting for the atmospheric and traditional event Ring Riding. Experience a wonderful afternoon full of Friesian horses, authentic shepherds, impressive costumes and exciting competitions in the heart of the city center.

Around 1 p.m., the parade through Sneek will start, with participants moving from the Veemarkthal to the course in the city center. At 1:30 p.m. the race begins with a practice round, followed by the official race. A total of six rounds will be run. During the event, participants with Friesian horses, original Friesian shepherds and beautiful Friesian costumes compete against each other and provide a special spectacle in the city center of Sneek.

The Netherlands has two associations that organize ring races: De Friese Aanspanning and Het Friese Tuigpaard. Throughout the year, participants take part in various competitions and events, focusing on tradition, agility and presentation.
