The Frisian Championship Ring Riding will take place in Sneek as part of Sneek 500 years Merchant City. The event will take place on the Singel.

Participants from De Friese Aanspanning will compete against participants from Het Friese Tuigpaard. They will compete for the coveted "Golden Whip" and the title of "Frisian Champion Ring Drawing."

On Sunday, September 14 around 1 p.m., the "parade" through Sneek will begin, with the participants marching from the Veemarkthal to the downtown course on the Singel. The race starts at 1:30 p.m. with a practice round, followed by the official race. There will be a total of six rounds.

The Netherlands has two associations that organize ring races: De Friese Aanspanning and Het Friese Tuigpaard. If you, as a member, want to qualify for the Friesian Championship, you will participate in several competitions during the year. At the end of the season the seven couples of each association with the highest score will be selected for the Fries Championship. With a maximum of fourteen couples they will compete with Friesian horses in original Friesian carriages and dressed in beautiful Friesian costumes for the honorary title and the Golden Whip.
