In the Whitsun weekend, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May is the 2nd edition of Sneek in-Water on the Starteiland in the Sneekermeer. This event offers a varied program for young and old, from trial runs and water sports clinics to a boat show with both new and used boats. Visitors can also enjoy sailing, surfing and supping workshops.

Free admission & free ferry transfer.This event is open to any water sports enthusiast.

SNEEK- Last year Sneek in-water was held for the first time on the Starteiland in the Sneekermeer. Despite the bad weather, both exhibitors and visitors were very enthusiastic. Every reason for the second edition again during the Whitsun weekend, now on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May and made possible by DNA Yachtinsurance, main sponsor of the event.

''From the positive reactions it appears that there is a need for an event that is distinctive from the existing boat shows. Thus at Sneek in-water the water sports experience is central,'' says Robbert Evers, with Eric van Staten initiator of this water sports event.

In addition to last year's exhibitors, several new participants have already signed up. With DNA YachtInsurance as main sponsor, Sneek in-water can be further put on the water map.

The event on the Starteiland concentrates around the centrally located middle harbor with over 100 moorings. Around the marina there will again be all kinds of stands from providers of water sports-related articles and services.

In addition to a varied range of new - and used boats, all kinds of activities will take place. As a visitor you can test sail the most diverse boats, follow a sailing clinic or workshop, sailing, surfing or supping, e-foiling.

Used boat market

In addition to the professional vendors, there is a separate jetty where individuals can offer their used boats for sale. This includes accessories, clothing, etc.

To promote competitive sailing, various class organizations are present and attention is paid to Adapted Sailing. Last year there was a lot of interest in the ships of the Department of Public Works, Provincial Water Management and the police on water. Those who want to can take a look on board again.

Between sailing and camping are many similarities. So providers of caravans, campers and tents are also welcome.

By boat to Starteiland

How fun is it to come to Sneek with your own boat during the Whitsun weekend and moor at the Starteiland for a visit to Sneek in-water. If you want to stay a night, no problem...there are plenty of mooring spots.

If you come by car or bike...you can park it within walking distance of the ferry that takes you to the island.

Sneek in-water is a low-threshold event. Exhibitors pay only a modest fee (a special offer even applies until February 28) and visitors have free entry. Watersports enthusiasts are welcome on both days between 10.00 and 17.00 on the Starteiland. Trial sailing is from 15.00 hours.
