Sneeker CantateKoor sings Pearls of Cantatas

The concert offers a beautiful anthology of cantatas from different stylistic periods, under the musical direction of Sippie van Beijeren Bergen en Henegouwen.
This musical afternoon will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, such as the sparkling "Das neugeborne Kindelein" and the beloved "Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern." Also on the program are compositions by Venetian master Claudio Monteverdi (Cantate Deo), contemporary composer Karl Jenkins (Cantate Domino) and Baroque composer Dietrich Buxtehude.
With this varied program, the choir bridges ancient and modern music, tradition and innovation - all within the timeless genre of the cantata.
The choir will be accompanied by organist Peter van der Zwaag and the Chamber Orchestra of the North.
