Sneekweek Fair

The Sneekweek Fair is known as one of the most fun fairs in the Netherlands. The carousels, bumper cars, shooting gallery, oliebollen stand, and dozens of other attractions make it a true family fair. It’s also the fair with the most spectacular attractions in the province.

This year, too, you can enjoy a mix of familiar favorites and brand-new thrills. Spin, crash, win prizes, or just grab a treat—you can do it all at Martiniplein.  

This year’s big newcomer is the Aeronaut: an impressive 80-meter-high swing ride in a unique steampunk style. High above the rooftops of Sneek, you’ll glide over the city, the fair, and the excitement of Sneekweek. Spectacular by day—and absolutely unforgettable at night with all the lights below you. For lovers of heights and thrilling experiences, this is without a doubt the highlight of 2026. 

Something for everyone  

Whether you’re coming with the kids, with friends, or just for a leisurely stroll—the Sneekweek Fair welcomes everyone. For families, there are plenty of fun children’s rides, classic games, and, of course, the ever-popular bumper cars. Thrill-seekers will find what they’re looking for among the fast and high-flying rides. And in between, you can enjoy fresh churros, steaming poffertjes, cotton candy, and oliebollen. The fair smells just as good as it looks. 

Low-stimulation fair   

Would you like to experience the fair in a slightly calmer atmosphere? OnFriday, July 31, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and onMonday, August 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., the fair will be low-stimulus: the music will be turned off and fewer lights will be on. This way, more people can enjoy the Sneekweek Fair in their own way. 

On Tuesday, August 4, the rides will be free for people with physical or mental disabilities, along with their companion. 

Would you like to participate? Then sign up on Tuesday, August 4, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the poffertjes stand. There, you’ll receive a wristband and a ride pass. With these, you can enjoy all the rides for free until 3:00 p.m. and check them off one by one! The time until which you can participate is clearly indicated at the top of the pass.  

Vote for your favorite:Contest for the Best Attractions at the Sneekweek Fair 

During Sneekweek, you can vote for the best attraction at the fair. Voting takes place in four categories: major rides, children’s attractions, games and skill challenges, and food and drinks.

The contest is organized by the Facebook page “Sneekweekkermis.” Keep an eye on the social media accounts of @sneekweekfeest and @sneekweekkermis to find out how and where to cast your vote. An alderman from the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân will present the prizes. The award ceremony will take place at the poffertjes stand onTuesday, August 4, at 11:30 a.m. Everyoneis welcome!
