Sneekweek fairground

The Sneekweek fairground is known as one of the most enjoyable in the Netherlands. The merry-go-rounds, car scooters, shooting gallery, oliebollenkraam and dozens of other attractions make it a real family fair. It is also the fair with the most spectacular attractions in the province.

This year, too, you will enjoy a mix of familiar favorites and brand-new thrills. Spin, crash, win prizes or just get something tasty - it's all possible on the Martini Square.

The big newcomer this year is the Aeronaut: an imposing 80-meter-high carousel in special steampunk style. High above the rooftops of Sneek, you will float over the city, the fairgrounds and the Sneekweek violence. Spectacular by day - at night with all the lights below you completely unforgettable. For lovers of height and experience this is without doubt the highlight of 2026.

Something for everyone

Whether you come with the kids, with friends or just for an atmospheric tour - the Sneekweek fairground welcomes everyone. For families there are plenty of cheerful children's rides, classic games and of course the ever-popular car scooter. Those who like excitement will find their liking in the fast and high attractions. And in between you can enjoy fresh churros, steaming poffertjes, cotton candy and oliebollen. The carnival smells as good as it looks.

Low-incentive carnival

Want to experience the fair in a quieter atmosphere? On Friday, July 31 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Monday, August 3 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the carnival is low-incentive: the music is turned off and fewer lights are on. This way more people can enjoy the Sneekweek fairground in their own way.

On Tuesday, August 4, the attractions are accessible free of charge for people with physical or mental disabilities, together with their companion.

Would you like to participate? Then sign up at the poffertjes stall on Tuesday 4 August between 1 and 2 pm. You will receive a wristband and a rides card. With this you can enjoy all attractions for free until 3 p.m. and tick them off one by one! At the top of the card is clearly stated until what time you can participate.

Vote for your favorite: Election best attractions of the Sneekweek fair

During the Sneekweek you can vote for the best attraction of the fair. You can vote in four categories: big entertainment, children's attractions, games and dexterity and food and drinks.

The election is organized by the facebook page 'Sneekweekkermis'. Keep an eye on the socials of @sneekweekfeest and @sneekweekkermis to know how and where to cast your vote. An alderman from the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân will award the prizes. The presentation will take place at the poffertjes stall on Tuesday, August 4 at 11:30 am. Everyone is welcome!
