Prime World Music Contest shows - Northern show corps at Take One '26

The Northern show corps participating in the World Music Contest (WMC) will show their new WMC show to each other and the general public on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event, appropriately called "Take One," is the first major test case for the show corps before the WMC. The instruction members of the corps provide each other with tips and tricks during the event. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Advendo Korpsen Sneek, Take One 2026 will take place at the ONS Zuidersportpark in Sneek. The event is open to the public for a low entrance fee.

World Music Contest
The WMC is held once every four years and is also known among musicians as "the Olympic Games for musicians. The WMC will take place in Kerkrade this July. A conscious choice was made to put Take One on the agenda early in the year. Instructional members will then have plenty of time to incorporate the comments into the further development of the show leading up to the WMC. The instruction members and an outside judge look at the musical book, the visual design of the shows and the effect of the show elements. After the shows, they give each other tips to make the shows even better.

Like everywhere else in the Netherlands, Northern corps are eager to show themselves to the public. Take One is jointly organized for and by the participating corps. The spokesman for the organization, Gerrit de Roos, says that the corps have been working on high-quality shows all winter. De Roos: "The bands and instruction teams want to present each other and the public with something beautiful to prepare for the prestigious World Music Contest in Kerkrade. The various instruction teams know each other well and often already work together a lot. This also determines the open atmosphere while giving tips and feedback during this fantastic event in April. Of course, supporters and enthusiasts are welcome in Sneek to witness this spectacle."

Take One is definitely not a tattoo, but a try-out. Visitors pay a small contribution at the entrance to cover expenses. At the entrance and in the catering it is only possible to pay with your credit card.

The fifth edition of Take One will take place on Saturday, April 25 at the sports park of soccer club ONS in Sneek. Zuidersportpark, Alexanderstraat 2D, 8606VP Sneek. The start of the festivities is at 13:30.
