The Stations of the Cross Walk is being organized for the seventh time this year and will lead past fourteen Stations of the Cross: images of moments in the Passion of Jesus on the way to Golgotha. Theme: Resilience

The theme of 2026 is Resilience. This theme ties in with the Way of the Cross walk in Volendam, where 'Resilience' is also the central theme. The choice is related to the commemoration of the New Year fire in café 't Hemeltje, 25 years ago this year. Fourteen young people died and many people were injured. According to the organization, the theme is about loss and suffering, but also about hope, togetherness and the strength to go on together.

Texts and QR codes
Guides with texts by Pastor Peter van der Weide are available at all exhibition locations. Other contributors include Emeritus Classical Pastor Wim Beekman, Pastor Paul Verbeek (Bergen op Zoom), Cees de Wit (initiator of the Walk of the Cross in Volendam) and Henk van der Veer, city poet of Sneek. Via a QR code at each location, the texts can also be read digitally.
The Stations of the Cross Walk can be viewed from March 4 through April 4, 2026 and is an initiative of the St. Antonius van Padua Parish.
