Windows of the World

Under the direction of conductor Ronald Slager, the Euphonia wind orchestra takes you on a special musical journey. “Windows of the World – Music Without Borders” is more than just a concert: it’s an afternoon where musical styles, diverse cultures, and people come together.
This afternoon, Euphonia will perform music from all corners of the globe.

 
But this afternoon, Euphonia won’t just be playing “borrowed” musical styles. We also seek to collaborate with musicians whose musical roots lie in those other styles and who wish to share their musical backgrounds with us. Guest musicians from various parts of the world will share the stage with the orchestra. They have their roots elsewhere but have, sooner or later, found their place in the Netherlands.

Their stories and musical traditions meet the sound of the concert band. Because where words sometimes fall short, music can bring us together. Music knows no national borders and needs no translation. It is a language we can all understand.
