20 years of the LAS Foundation

Writers for readers, that's what Foundation Literary Activities Sneek (LAS) has stood for for 20 years. Reading is a party, and we celebrate it together! On Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 3 p.m., the very first Sneeker Reading Festival will take place in Theater Sneek. The jubilee foundation will treat you to an afternoon and evening full of literature, stories, music and culinary delights.

The Sneeker Leesfeest is an initiative of Stichting LAS and is organized in cooperation with Boekhandel Van der Velde, Bibliotheken Mar en Fean and Cultuurkwartier Sneek. This first edition not only celebrates 20 years of Stichting LAS, but also heralds a new literary event in Friesland.

What to expect.

• Meet renowned authors such as Anya Niewierra, Abdelkader Benali and Safae el Khannoussi.
• Listen to engaging conversations led by Kirsten van Santen.
• Enjoy live music by Hiske Oosterwijk and others.
• Be surprised by poetry by Arjan Hut and Gabriëlle Terpstra.
• End the evening with a dazzling performance by the Literary Boyband.
