Their joint performances are characterized by a deep artistic connection and a passion for storytelling through music.
Florence van der Does is known for her poetic playing and refined empathy. She has performed in prestigious venues such as Musis Sacrum, the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and Het Concertgebouw, and has been a guest at festivals such as the Pianoduo Festival Amsterdam and the Grachtenfestival. She could also be heard live on NPO Radio 4 on several occasions.
Florence studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the ArtEZ conservatory with Frank Peters and Frank van de Laar, among others. She took master classes with internationally renowned musicians such as Marietta Petkova, Igor Roma and the Silver-Garburg duo. Thanks to support from Ars Donandi, she took summer courses at Musicalp and the Peter the Great Festival, where she was awarded the Honorary Award for Outstanding Musicianship.
Jara van Dam is a versatile clarinetist with a broad artistic horizon. She trained at the ArtEZ Conservatory and the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she received lessons from top teachers such as Bart de Kater and Harmen de Boer. She also specialized in es and bass clarinet.
Jara played at festivals such as the Opera Forward Festival, the Dutch Clarinet Festival and the Beethoven Festival. She performed with various orchestras, including the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy. In 2014, she won first prize at the Dutch Clarinet Competition. Her love of experimentation is expressed in interdisciplinary projects, such as the children's performance Pinokkio! during the IN DOORS festival.
