Filmhuis Sneek: En fanfare

Jimmy and Thibaut are brothers who share a love of music, but are initially unaware of it. Adopted into different environments, they have little in common as adults. They only meet when Thibaut is found to have leukemia and goes in search of a bone marrow donor.

Director Emmanuel Courcol manages to create a fine feel-good film without lapsing into excessive sentimentality. Through the two brothers he tells between the lines about the role of (unequal) social circumstances, and how music can nevertheless connect people. A film that sensitively shows the power of friendship and family ties and will leave no one unmoved during the finale.
