Rossini's overture Il Barbiere di Siviglia opens the program energetically, followed by fiery Spanish repertoire. Then, of course, you will be in for a treat with highlights from the Viennese operetta and ballroom repertoire! Star soprano Leonor Amaral provides many a goose bump moment with well-known arias, such as the expressive Cancion de la Paloma by Barbieri, the dramatic Carceleras by Chapi and the graceful song Strahlender Mond by Künnecke. All of this, of course, unthinkable without the best polkas and waltzes by Johann Strauss Jr. because this is the only way to welcome the New Year in style!
