Opening Watersports Season Sneek

That Sneek is buzzing during the Ascension weekend is a fact with the sailing races of the Little Sneek Week on the Sneekermeer and the Little Sneek Week step night on Friday night. This year extra the Saturday will be added with a festive Opening Watersports Season.

On Saturday, May 11, the center of Sneek will be the scene of the Opening Watersports Season for the first time. At no less than 8 locations in the town, various activities will be organized, all of which will be dedicated to water (sports).

On the Markstraat, the Royal Navy will present a wide range of activities, including an impressive climbing tower and an interactive experience container. On Hoogend, members of the Ekenstein boating club will launch their radio-controlled boats, while Leeuwenburg will feature a craft market, children's activities and various fish and food stands. In addition, the Fries Scheepvaartmuseum will host a number of activities around and in their museum. There will be a fishing competition for children on the Grootzand and visitors can enjoy splashing street theater and of course there will be musical entertainment.

In short, a lively and vibrant day in the heart of Sneek, where the versatility of water sports is fully celebrated.
