René is at the peak of his happiness, it seems to come to him. But ask him how he is really doing and you won't get an unambiguous answer. A well thought out and hilarious answer of course.

In Noodzakelijk kwaad, René once again takes a good look at life and speaks frankly. About his freedom-joy, but also about the downside of the always-joyful-orange-male.

With 2636, his previous performance, René won the Poelifinario, the award for best cabaret program. With the same program, he also won a Platinum Ticket Award for selling more than 50,000 tickets. Van Meurs has been a regular member of comedy collective Comedytrain for years. He won the jury and audience award of Cameretten, toured sold-out venues with five full-length programs and was nominated for the Neerlands Hoop in 2018.
