Sneekweek: Optimist on tour

Children who have always wanted to canoe or sail can enjoy themselves. Optimist on Tour is coming to Sneek 5, 6 and 7 August during Sneekweek! For three days you can enjoy free water sports in the center and also learn a lot about water.

Out on the water!
Optimist on Tour Sneek is a collaboration between Stichting Sneekweek, Koninklijke Watersportvereniging Sneek and the Watersportverbond. Elementary school children between the ages of 8 and 12 from the region can come to Sneek during Sneekweek on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to learn about canoeing and sailing. They will be taught by certified instructors from the Watersportverbond. All you need is a swimming certificate A. Optimist on Tour will take care of the rest!

Program and registration
Every day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, children can sign up with their friends for free via the website optimistontour.nl, so you can be sure of a place. Registration is also possible on location, again permission of a parent/guardian is needed. Every hour a new lesson starts. First you get theory lessons on the shore. Then you sit at the helm of an Optimist or go canoeing.

Professor in the Water Lab
Always wanted to play professor? Besides Optimist on Tour you can also enter the Water Lab on shore. On the spot you will be transformed into a real researcher with a white coat, glasses and pipettes to do all kinds of experiments with water. Why, for example, do iron thumbtacks float on water? And how do you purify water so you can drink it? With these experiments we teach children about clean water and a sustainable future.
