Few other bands like Crosby, Stills & Nash left a major mark on multi-voiced pop music. When Utrecht-based singer-songwriters Gilrdor van Beers, Eric Kerns (USA) and Richard Cejar (UK) sang together for the first time, a Eureka moment similar to that of Crosby, Stills & Nash in the 1960s emerged.
Sweet Judy Blue was therefore born out of the love and admiration for Crosby, Stills & Nash and their timeless music. There are remarkable similarities between the two trios, such as Graham Nash's high-pitched voice mimicked by Cejer's British tenor. American folk rock veteran Erick Kens can sing Crosby's "Almost Cut My Hair" with complete conviction, while Gildor's guitar work and raw vocals are a fine tribute to Stephen Stills.
