This year’s 2026 Christmas tour brings the Margaretha Consort to Peize, Zutphen, Meppel, Sneek, and Breukelen. It is an impressive event: a Christmas Eve service just as it might have taken place around 1640... The Margaretha Consort cordially invites you to attend this evening and join us on our journey toward Christmas!

The Margaretha Consort will take you, the audience, on a journey back in time. The inspiring musical direction is in the hands of Marit Broekroelofs, cellist and gambist. She and her ensemble always know how to touch the hearts of the audience—and the beautiful sound of the church organ, which plays a prominent role in this program, will contribute to that experience.

During the Christmas concert, you’ll hear well-known Advent and Christmas carols such as “Nun komm der Heiden Heiland,” “Er is een roos ontloken,” “In dulci jubilo,” and others. Choral music will be interspersed with instrumental pieces, soloists, beautiful organ solos, and… you can join in too! In fact, the audience is warmly invited to sing along to some of the songs; these will be clearly indicated in the program booklet. This way, you’re not just a listener but also part of the whole experience.
