On Saturday, December 30, the Martinikerk in Sneek will once again fill with music during the “oliebol” concert by the Rolling Home Folk Choir. The concert begins at 3:00 p.m., and doors open at 2:30 p.m.

In honor of our 25th anniversary, we are supporting two charities this year: the purchase and maintenance of playground equipment for the Sneek Children’s Farm, and the purchase of traditional Dutch toys by the Oranje Sneek Association for King’s Day. All of this is being done under the motto “Play for Children.”

In addition to the proceeds from admission fees paid by the (hopefully) many spectators, we are, of course, trying to keep costs as low as possible through sponsorships and grants; however, in some cases, certain expenses are unavoidable—such as the cost of the digital signs at the entrances to our city of Sneek.

When: Wednesday evening, December 30, 2026
Where: Martinikerk, Sneek
Time: 8:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.

Rolling Home and the Stedelijk Muziekkorps Sneek, conducted by Theo Brouwer, will provide the program. You’ll hear both groups perform separately as well as together. During the intermission, coffee or tea will be served, and you’ll receive an oliebollen from Oliebollenfabrikant Venema.

After the concert, a check will be presented to the charity, and the Silver Christmas Ball will be awarded to someone who has made a significant contribution to music and culture in the municipality of Sudwest Fryslan.
