XMAS Sneek Christmas Parade & Christmas Lights Ceremony

XMAS Sneek Christmas Parade, during which Santa Claus is welcomed in festive style and the lights on the large Christmas tree are lit.

In December, downtown Sneek is transformed into a beautifully lit winter scene. The large Christmas tree is decorated once again, and all of Sneek is bathed in festive Christmas lights. 

Saturday, December 12
, 4:30–5:30 p.m. Xmas Sneek Christmas Parade

This Saturday, Santa Claus will make his festive entrance in Sneek during the Christmas Parade. At 4:30 p.m., various floats and marching (music) groups will set off on a route through the city center. The parade ends at Schaapmarktplein at 5:30 p.m., where the large Christmas tree will be festively lit. Beautifully lit floats will wind through the city, handing out treats to children. Around 5:30 p.m., we’ll gather at Schaapmarktplein, where Santa Claus will light the Christmas tree.

Veemarkthal, Stationsstraat, Martiniplein, Oud Kerkhof, Marktstraat, Leeuwenburg, Grootzand ZZ, Singel, Kleinzand, Jousterkade, Oosterdijk, Wijde Burgstraat, Nauwe Burgstraat, Schaapmarktplein, Grootzand ZZ, Hoogend, Oude Koemarkt, Grote Kerkstraat, Marktstraat, Leeuwenburg, Schaapmarktplein.

Santa’s sleigh will stop at Schaapmarktplein for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. 

In the evening, you can continue to enjoy the festive Christmas atmosphere until the wee hours at one of the city’s many restaurants and bars.

On Saturday, December 19, it’s time for the big XMAS Sneek Christmas market with plenty of Christmas entertainment in downtown Sneek.
